We are looking for a Printing Press Feeder in Kitchener Ontario! Please see details below:

Full Time, Permanent

Pay Rate of a Press Feeder:

  • $19.88- $24.42/ hour (based on experience) + benefits

Hours:

  • Continental, 12 hour shifts, rotating every 2 weeks.
  • 7AM – 7PM rotating with 7PM – 7AM.

Responsibilities:

  • Feed the lithographic press in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Assist the Pressman with make readies and production.
  • Maintain ink levels, dampening solution and all other supplies.
  • Record production data as required (paperwork and on the computer system).
  • Verify customer specifications for each product using computer system.
  • Follow and complete all work instructions for each job.
  • Check quality continually ensuring standards are met or exceeded.
  • Operate a walkie to transport product within and between departments.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain printing equipment as required.
  • Responsible for knowing equipment lockout procedures.
  • Perform general housekeeping and other related duties as required.
  • Perform wash- ups on the presses.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience on a large format sheet fed lithographic printing press.
  • Strong knowledge of all printing functions.
  • Must successfully complete a colour blindness test.
Job Summary

We are looking for a candidate with direct Press Feeder experience in the Printing Industry. Firstly, they must have fed a Lithographic press in their previous experience. It is important to note that the Press that the employee will be expected to feed and assist the Pressman with a 6 colour, 56 inch press. There is lots of opportunities to grow within the company.

Secondly, the shift is a bi-weekly continental rotating shift. Meaning, the shift runs for 12 hours. The shifts start at 7AM until 7PM. Then, every second week the shift rotated to 7PM until 7AM.

Third, work flow varies based on the schedule you are placed on. For example, the employee works for 3 days, and then has 2 consecutive days off.  Alternatively, it may be 2 days on, 3 days off.

Lastly, it is important to note that continental shifts are a norm in the printing/ manufacturing industry. Printing presses never stop production, therefore continental shifts ensure smooth workflow. Also, employees get consecutive days off to ensure proper rest. This deters burning out an employee.
